PlayStation 4 Black Friday deals 2016: Best prices on PS4 bundles and big new games - Polygon

PlayStation 4 Black Friday deals have begun trickling out, and there's already a lot to choose from, from software to hardware.

There are two new models of the PS4 on the market this holiday season: the trimmed down, so-called PS4 Slim and the 4K-capable PlayStation 4 Pro. With more options to choose from, Black Friday shoppers may also expect a variety of offers to sift through.

That doesn't seem to be the case thus far, based on our retailer round-up below. We'll keep you posted as more discounts continue to come through, but here's what you can expect for PS4 Black Friday 2016 deals:

The PS4 Slim goes $50 off

A bundle including the 500 GB PlayStation 4 Slim with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will cost $250 on and around Black Friday. That's down from the usual $300 sticker price, and some retailers are throwing in additional games (namely Ratchet & Clank and The Last of Us Remastered) alongside this year's Nathan Drake adventure.

Here's when and where you can find yourself a PS4 Slim for cheap:

  • Best Buy has the 500 GB Slim, along with Uncharted 4, The Last of Us Remastered and Ratchet & Clank, for $250 from Nov. 24-25.
  • BJ's Wholesale Club has the 500 GB Slim and Uncharted 4 bundle for $250. The console will be discounted from Nov. 25-28, but it's available as a doorbuster, so don't expect it to last that long.
  • Costco has the 500 GB Slim with Uncharted 4 packed in for $250 from Nov. 25-28. Expect tight stock, with strict limits on how many consoles shoppers can take home with them.
  • GameStop has the same 500 GB Uncharted 4 bundle at the same $250 price. Buyers can also choose between Ratchet & Clank or The Last of Us Remastered with their purchase. The offer's only good on Nov. 25.
  • Kohl's has the 500 GB Slim bundle, including Uncharted 4, for $250. Deals start Nov. 21 and run through Nov. 25. For every $50 spent there, buyers will receive $15 in store credit.
  • Sam's Club discounts the 500 GB Slim with Uncharted 4 to $250. The deal is good Nov. 25-27.
  • Toys R Us cuts the price of the 500 GB Slim bundle with Uncharted 4 to $250. That price is valid from Nov. 24-26.
  • Walmart's deal is familiar at this point: a 500 GB Slim with Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank and The Last of Us Remastered. As a bonus, the retailer's throwing in a $30 gift card. This deal's good Nov. 24-25.
    • No PS4 Pro deals so far

    We haven't seen any deals for the PS4 Pro on its own yet, but we're awaiting ads from retailers like Amazon and Target.

    Best Buy does have a deal for anyone looking for a nice 4K TV as well as the souped up PS4, however. A Toshiba 55-inch LED 4K UHD TV will cost $750 on Black Friday, and it comes with the PS4 Pro console.

    Any PlayStation VR deals?

    Although the PSVR headset dropped in October, discounts are scant. We'll let you know if we spot one.

    New and exclusive games on the cheap

    Plenty of notable new releases will see price cuts on Black Friday, ranging from exclusives to big deal multi-platform games.

    In the former camp are titles like No Man's Sky, Ratchet & Clank, Dragon Quest Builders and The Last of Us Remastered. If you've been waiting to get Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition, those are marked down for the holiday too.

    Here's a sampling of discounted games to buy this Black Friday:

  • Best Buy's discounts include The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Until Dawn and Far Cry Primal for $15. For $20, there's Mirror's Edge Catalyst and Dark Souls 3; $25 gets you The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience, No Man's Sky or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition. Destiny the Collection costs $30 on Black Friday.
  • BJ's Wholesale Club has a smattering of PS4 games available, all of which are $20 off. Included in the mix are Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1.
  • GameStop's deals include Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, World of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest Builders for $39.99. Killing Floor 2 will be 10 bucks cheaper at $29.99, while The Last of Us Remastered, Ratchet & Clank and No Man's Sky are all 50 percent off. That puts them at $9.99, $9.99 and $19.99 respectively.
  • Toys R Us has Street Fighter 5 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition ($10 off); Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Dark Souls 3 and Titanfall 2 ($20 off); Destiny the Collection, Far Cry Primal, Skyrim Special Edition ($25 off); and Battlefield 1, FIFA 17 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided ($30 off).
  • Walmart's price cuts include Overwatch, Destiny the Collection, Mafia 3, BioShock the Collection and The Witcher 3, all for $30. There's also Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Madden NFL 17 and FIFA 17 for $27. For $25, buyers can pick up Tom Clancy's The Division, Batman: Return to Arkham and Batman: A Telltale Games Series.
    • Maybe you need a controller?

    It's high time to pick up another DualShock 4, especially now that they're supported by Steam for PC play. Several retailers are slashing prices on controllers, as well as other peripherals, to entice holiday shoppers.

  • Best Buy has a PlayStation-brand Gold wireless stereo headset marked down to $60 for Black Friday. That's down from $100.
  • BJ's Wholesale Club has controllers $15 off as a doorbuster. That brings the basic DualShock 4 down to $50.
  • GameStop will sell the black DualShock 4 for $39.99. Red and camouflage-print controllers will be $44.99. GameStop is also the exclusive retailer of the new gold DualShock 4, which goes on sale Nov. 21 and costs the standard $64.99.
    • Hey, what about the Vita?

    Uh, what about the Vita? There's not much in the way of deals for the poor PlayStation handheld, but we'll keep you posted.
